Red Sparrow is a spy movie but not the typical type. It goes beyond the usual with many disturbing scenes of violence, rape, torture, nudity and sex. It also has quite a long complex plot. It is for sure not for everyone.
The film in short is about a famous ballerina who has passion for her profession is forced to be a low-grade type spy because she was seen as having the potential to seduce a billionaire who had interest in her.

This film in short shows the life of the figure ice skater Tonya Harding leading to the 1994 attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan.

Tonya Harding was not just any figure ice skater, in 1991 she earned distinction as being the first American woman to successfully land a triple axel in competition, and only the second woman to ever do so in history (behind Midori Ito). She is also a two-time Olympian and a two-time Skate America Champion. But sadly, she got disqualified in 1994 and banned for life from the U.S figures Skating Championship following the attach on her rival Nancy Kerrigan by her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly.

A very interesting real story about the kidnaping and release of the grandson of one of the richest men in history (J Paul Getty).

While the core of the story is negotiating the release of the billionaire grandson, this particular incident reveals a lot of the personality and life of this rich man which was a really interesting character. Christopher Plummer who played the role of Getty at 88 years of age was really brilliant. He has left his print on this film and really deserves to win in each award he was nominated for. Of course, we have to mention he had to do all this in few weeks following replacing Kevin Spacy which is even more impressive.
